Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Luke Messer. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Reverting some recent changes

[edit]

I have reverted some recent changes:

1 The private sector work apparently consists of lobbying per the content of the paragraph, so why make the header less specific? (Actually somebody else already reverted this, I see.)
2, with edit summary "The last sentence is not factually accurate". It is however sourced, and I have restored it. If you have an issue with the veracity of the source, please discuss here on talk.
3. I've restored the removed sentence, as it's removal simply made the paragraph harder to follow (bafflingly, it went straight to residency concerns plaguing other Indiana elected officials).
4 added political opinion in Wikipedia's voice, sourced to Fox News commentary. Restoring original version while awaiting result of discussion here on the BLP noticeboard.
5 I've removed this addition, as Messer's expression of pride in his wife, without adducing any non-emotional facts, and as interviewed by some blog, seems factually irrelevant. Please see WP:UNDUE. Bishonen | talk 11:42, 8 July 2017 (UTC).[reply]

Residency question

[edit]

I have removed "wealthy" from the sentence

"... he sold his house in Shelbyville, Indiana and moved to McLean, Virginia, a wealthy Washington, D.C. suburb."

It is immaterial to Messer's biography and is misleading. For the reader who is not familiar with the area, it creates the impression that Messer picked a wealthy area to buy a home when in fact all of the suburbs of the metro D.C. area are considered wealthy compared to rest of the country. "America's Richest Counties". {{cite web}}: Cite has empty unknown parameter: |1= (help), "Seven of nation's 10 most affluent counties are in Washington region". [edit]

I see that this article has had a number of WP:Single purpose accounts editing it, and at least one sockpuppet. The IndyStar has accused 3 editors, no longer editing here at least not with their original account names, of editing on behalf of another politician. At the moment there are editors with only a few edits but all of them have over 10 edits so semi-protection is pointless. I can add WP:ECP which prevents edits from all IP editors and any registered user with less than 30 days' tenure or fewer than 500 edits if that seems necessary.
